Blimp with Romney's face makes crash landing

File this under "worst omen ever" : A blimp-like aircraft with Governor Mitt Romney's face and the slogan "America needs Romney" went down in Florida Sunday.

File this under "worst omen ever" : A blimp-like aircraft with Governor Mitt Romney's face and the slogan "America needs Romney" went down in Florida Sunday. The aircraft left from Boca Raton, the site of the final presidential debate tonight, but high winds forced it to make an emergency landing.

The aircraft was grounded in Broward County, a Democratic-leaning area which President Obama won overwhelmingly in 2008. Broward County is also one of the Florida counties remembered for hanging chads and a vote recount  in 2000.

A Romney spokesperson told the National Journal the campaign was not involved in the promotion. Neither of the two pilots on board were injured.
