Richard Wolffe contends that the prospect is unlikely because, essentially, many current conservative policies are baked into the GOP’s DNA. Ari Melber agrees, pinning the issue on redistricting efforts that have made districts more partisan. Joy Reid says that it’s likely that Republican politicos will shift to the center, but the base will not.
