President Obama, with his daughters by his side, talked on Wednesday about less fortunate Americans this Thanksgiving, then pardoned  two turkeys from Virginia.

“You know they say life is all about second chances,” Obama said during the Thanksgiving Eve Rose Garden ceremony,. “And this November, I could not agree more.”

And in an apparent dig at Mitt Romney’s “gifts” excuse for losing the Nov. 6 election, the president added, “So in the spirit of the season, I have one more gift to give and it goes to a pair of turkeys named Cobbler and Gobbler.”
