While the news channel that shares its name leans to the right, The Simpsons, which appears on FOX's broadcast network, has been having fun taking shots at the Republican Party. In the most recent teaser video released on YouTube, Springfield's bazillionaire  nuclear power plant owner, Mr. Burns, explains to all of us what it will mean to go off the fiscal cliff.

Burns explains, "Think of the economy as a car, and the rich man is the driver. If you don't give the driver all the money, he'll drive you over a cliff. It's just commonsense."

Yes, it's exactly like that. No, it's not exactly like that. Burns also has some advice for how Republicans can work to change immigration policy (spoiler alert: it's not a good idea).

Kudos to the Simpson animators for the scene's many sight gags which include binders labeled "women" and a book entitled "Nate Silver Can't Add."

This isn't the first time The Simpsons have had some fun at the expense of our political process this year. Ahead of Election Day the show released this video making fun of voter ID laws and both Pres. Obama and Mitt Romney.
