For Jon Stewart, this was some low-hanging fruit.

On Wednesday night, the Daily Show host lampooned Senate Republicans for blocking a U.N. treaty to protect the rights of the disabled. The GOP, led by former senator Rick Santorum, cited concerns over the impact on homeschooling, and embraced fringe theories about the U.N. jeopardizing U.S. sovereignty.

“Oh, my God. It’s official,” said Stewart, in a segment highlighted by MSNBC’s Morning Joe Thursday. “Republicans hate the United Nations more than they like helping people in wheelchairs.”
