There is an incredible amount of information coming into our newsrooms very quickly about the mass shooting this morning at a Connecticut elementary school.

We will devote our entire broadcast to the shooting this afternoon—a combination of analysis and information as it continues to break.

Let’s be honest, it’s been a tough week on the gun issue.

On Wednesday, we reported this note in a segment “All we want for Christmas is a real gun control debate” —a holiday wish made in the wake of the shooting at an Oregon shopping mall that left two people, plus alleged gunman Jacob Tyler Roberts, dead.

This mass shooting now appears much more extensive in its casualties and the policy debate has already begun, with the president to speak today and NRA and #guncontrol among trending topics on Twitter.

The question remains: Will the debate go anywhere?

Here are some few links and social media information you might find helpful as the day goes on.
