President Obama travels to Newport News, Virginia Tuesday to rally the public against across-the-board spending cuts set to take effect Friday, in an effort to get Congress back to the negotiating table. Plus, former Senator Chuck Hagel's nomination to lead the Defense Department could see a cloture vote Tuesday morning. We'll discuss with Rep. Rob Wittman from the Armed Services Committee, as well as Ed O'Keefe and Andy Kroll.

We'll talk with retired Colonel Jack Jacobs about the state of the Defense Department, with former Senator Chuck Hagel's nomination awaiting confirmation and with the sequester threatening funding and employment for many in the department.

Former Senator Byron Dorgan and Jonathan Collegio will weigh in on changing tides in the GOP, after dozens of prominent Republicans signed a legal brief Tuesday arguing that gay and lesbian Americans have a right to marry.
