MSNBC’s Lawence O’Donnell weighed in on Bill O’Reilly’s, uh, temperament, during his ‘Rewrite’ segment on Wednesday’s show. “Bill knows he has anger issues, and he’s working on them. He’s just not doing a really great job of working on them,” The Last Word host began.
O’Reilly blew up at liberal pundit Alan Colmes, repeatedly accusing his guest of lying about President Barack Obama’s proposed spending cuts. It was epic, even for O’Reilly standards.
“Now, far be it for me to object to calling someone a liar on TV. I’ve done it, and I’ve done it angrily… but only when the person was actually lying. Poor Alan Colmes was simply telling the truth,” said O’Donnell.
Railing against someone on TV isn’t new to O’Reilly’s repertoire. But as O’Donnell pointed out, “What is most surprising about Bill’s rage last night, is not that he was completely wrong.” He added, “It was that it came just two weeks after he seemed to be doing so well with his anger management.”
