Fresh off her soda-swigging speech at CPAC, Sarah Palin's back with the laughs. Not the actual Palin, but the Tina Fey version of her.
Fey dusted off her old Palin impression for an appearance on Bravo's Inside the Actors Studio. Host James Lipton "interviewed" the fake Palin. When asked how he should address her, fake-Palin responded, "I'm a half-governor, or you could call me a maverick-at-large."
Her views on gun control? "You know, Jimmy, I believe that if everybody had guns, then there would be fewer guns in the stores."
What about same sex marriage? "Well, the Bible says it's gross," the fake-Palin said, adding later, "Marriage is meant for people who wear different kinds of swimsuits."
"Sarah Palin has become a caricature of herself," Comedian Chuck Nice said on Thursday's PoliticsNation. "You can absolutely hear Sarah Palin saying these things."
Although Fey's latest impression didn't lift from Palin verbatim (as she did in 2008), Nice says the Palin impression still revs up the crowd because it's an accurate representation "It's funny cause it's true," he said. "It's not slanderous in any way shape or form, it's kind of spot on."
And Palin herself, said Nice, is "the gift that keeps on giving."
