President Obama returns to Connecticut on Monday, where he will speak at the University of Hartford, just an hour north of Sandy Hook Elementary School, the site of December's mass shooting. The President is expected to meet with family members of the victims before delivering a speech intended to urge congress to act on gun safety reform. It's the beginning of a critical week for the administration and the President's agenda. The Senate returns and its first order of business will be a discussion about the future of gun legislation. But while there has been some bipartisan progress on the issue, a group of republicans are threatening to filibuster potential bills, something Senator John McCain questioned on Sunday. The White House has also been critical of attempts to block gun legislation, but ultimately lawmakers hold the President's legacy in their hands. Even more importantly, Congress also holds the legacy of the Newtown victims in its hands. We’ll discuss the agenda on guns and more when we see you at noon ET on msnbc.
