The Obama campaign scored another win on Tuesday: a "Breakout of the Year" Webby award for "masterfully combin[ing] savvy political and tech genius to become the secret weapon behind Obama's commanding reelection."

The Webbys, which honor the best of the Web in their annual awards, hailed Obama for America 2012 for its ability to collect, analyze, and apply vast amounts of data to voters across the country. That database—which collected  information from Facebook to hunting licenses—allowed the campaign to predict how likely voters were to support their candidate. OFA also used its web presence to fund-raise and mobilize individuals via social media.

The Webby judges specifically honored Chief Technology Officer Harper Reed, Chief Innovation and Integration Officer Michael Slaby, Digital Director Teddy Goff, and the other members of President Obama’s tech team for "revolutioniz[ing] the way future campaigns will be implemented across the globe."

OFA was up against some stiff competition: Other Webby winners included R&B singer Frank Ocean; pop stars Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga; and actor Kevin Spacey and producer Dana Brunetti for the online-only Netflix television series "House of Cards."

Arianna Huffington, Instagram creator Kevin Systrom, and Twitter co-founder Biz Stone were among the Webby judges.

The Webbys received more than 11,000 entries in 2013.
