Republicans are stepping up their attacks against Hillary Clinton over her role during and after the attacks on the U.S. mission in Benghazi. And the debate is now focused on a State Department email about the attackers. But the email was sent by a senior State department official and wasn't distributed to Clinton. As far as smoking guns go, it's not particularly smoky.

Meanwhile, Karl Rove's group has a new ad hitting Hillary over Benghazi. Eugene Robinson calls the Republican investigation into Benghazi a "witch hunt" and the New York Times calls it an "obsession".

Historian Douglas Brinkley interviewed Vice President Joe Biden for Rolling Stone magazine, and the big takeaway, according to Brinkley, is that Biden's running for president and could be a threat to Hillary Clinton.
