For millions of immigrants who arrived illegally to the United States the immigration debate is far more than a political issue. It's their future. But many are not waiting for Congress to shape their fate.

Photographer John Moore traveled to the San Juan Bosco shelter for undocumented immigrants in Nogales, Mexico, to take pictures of some of these immigrants and hear their stories. The shelter, located close to the Arizona border, allows immigrants to stay for up to three nights, either after they have been deported from the U.S. or while on their way in. These portraits were taken on the night of March 9, 2013.
