After an explosive interview with accusations of extra-terrestrial life, ovulation, and Messiah complexes on Monday, Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski finally knows who Russell Brand is.
On set on Friday, Way Too Early host Brian Shactman teased Brzezinski during a news segment on Brand's upcoming tour, Messiah Complex, which was cancelled in the Middle East due to safety concerns.
"Russell Brand's Messiah Complex tour, you've heard of it right?" Shactman asked Brzezinski.
"I do know who he is now," Brzezinski said with a laugh.
Earlier in the week, a Morning Joe interview with Brand went off the tracks quickly after Brzezinski introduced Brand as "a really big deal, I know! I'm told this, I'm not very pop cultured, I'm sorry."
“People come in here one after the other," she said. "I didn’t know who Russell was. I don’t think Russell liked that.”
The response has been overwhelming, she said.
"I've never gotten more vitriol and anger and hatred than I have over this," Brezinski said on Friday. “I apologize for not knowing.”
