When news broke Saturday that legendary journalist Helen Thomas had died at 92, Melissa Harris-Perry and NBC News White House correspondent Kristen Welker discussed Thomas’ career and legacy. Thomas was a pioneering woman in the field, and Welker told Harris-Perry that earlier in the week in the White House Press Room, she thought, "I wish I could have been there when she occupied that seat.”
Thomas covered every president from Eisenhower to Obama and retired in 2010.
