Members of Congress are seeing a silver lining to their dismal approval rating—at least it's getting (a little) better.
According to the latest Gallup poll, Congress’ approval rating rose to 19%, up from a historic low approval rating of just 14% last month. This latest evaluation comes at a time when Congress must decide what action to take with Syria, a controversial subject among Americans.
Prior to going on a five-week summer break, an NBC News/ Wall Street Journal poll showed Congress was struggling with an approval rating of 12% in July and 57% of Americans wishing they could replace everyone in Congress.
Compared to August polling numbers, the improved congressional approval ratings is reflected among all parties. Republicans approval increased to 18%, Democrats went up to 20%, and Independents’ ratings also rose to 19%. Now the question is can this trend continue as we head into the 2014 mid-term elections in November.
